DIY Easy and Clean Conditioner for Hair

DIY Easy and Clean Conditioner for Hair

In my quest to live as clean as possible, I make some of my own beauty products. Retail store shampoo, conditioner and lotions are loaded with chemicals. Being chemically sensitive and not wanting the exposure I took a different trail.

"Natural " store bought conditioner made my scalp itch and most contain cetearyl alcohol, which is the source of the itch. Here is an easy recipe that works great and keeps hair soft and in good condition.

  • 1/2-3/4 cup distilled water
  • 1/8-1/2 tsp guar gum (thickening agent) most health food stores sell it in bulk section.
  • 1-2 tsp glycerin (optional but makes the conditioner feel and flow better.)
  • 3 1/2 tsp jojoba oil
  • Vit E oil few drops

Mix guar gum and water until thickened, stir in glycerin. Add oils mix with immersion blender. If you like a scent a few drops of essential oil here. Use funnel to pour into small bottle.

Use a small amount on shampooed hair leave on a minute then rinse.
